I can't believe next Friday is our last day in 2012. 2013 is going to be a great year. TCAP, Multipl
The holidays are just around the corner and it was a perfect time to teach a lesson on compassion and the art of selfless acts. Thank you everyone who helped donate. The students wrote beautiful stories of why we need to think of other people. Some students even donated their own money. I have such a wonderful group of kiddos.

We have had a great week. We are continuing to work on expectations, rules, and what RESPECT, RESPONSIILITY, AND SAFETY look, sound, and feel like. We are a PBIS school. I will post more information on what this means for our students and families at Vista PEAK. Our "Bison Corral" student store will be opening up soon. Students earn "Bison Bucks" for being respectful, responsible, and safe, in and out of the classroom. Teachers at VISTA Peak will pay close attention to our students, so they can earn that "money" to buy a variety of items at the Bison Corral Store at the end of each month. Has your student been bringing their homework log home every night? Have they been reading 30 mins. every night? I have had many students earn Bison Bucks already for being responsible with their homework Students in Mrs. Hunter's class have been working diligently on classroom expectations and rules. It has been a great week and we are improving every day. I believe that it is very important to set realistic goals for ourselves, and also as a team. This will motivate us to ultimately be the best we can be, so that we can be successful in and out of the classroom.
I am working hard to create a document that can act as a planner for students. Organization is a key component to being successful. Please look for this on Monday in their homework folders. Students will be expected to write down their homework each night and I am asking that you look it over and sign it each night. My goal is to make this a habit, so that students can independently jot down homework assignments without prompting. We will finish Acuity testing in the technology lab on the 29th. Monday we will start and finish the Writing portion of this predictive assessment. Thursday the 29th, we will complete Math and Reading, which we started this week. This assessment will help me pin point areas of need and g Have a wonderful weekend. See you Monday! To build our vocabulary, meaningful words will be introduced every day. This is also how we transition from activity to activity. Students will be encouraged to use these words through out the day in context.
