What: Today we will be researching about regional characteristics.
Why: To collect factual information and evidence to support our understanding of the region. We need evidence to support our thinking.
How: Visiting the videos and websites below. Taking notes. Watching closely and listening to Mrs. Hunter as she models how to take notes.
Success Criteria: I know I am successful when I can describe the weather, culture, lifestyle, landmarks, landforms, natural disasters, college life, of my region/state.

First, let's take a look at where we are... This will help us set goals and make plans for our work today.

Now, let's learn how to do research. I will demonstrate. We are so excited to finish our projects, but I am noticing most groups don't have EVIDENCE! We have to prove we understand what the geography is like in our regions. Then we can infer about the lifestyle's people may live.
You need... a pencil, clipboard, and Cornell Notes notetaker. Pay attention closely.

If I visited ___________________ I might see ______________________.
If I visited ___________________ I might hear ______________________.
If I visited ___________________ I might smell/feel _____________________.

If I attend _________________, my life would be __________________________.

________________ is in _____________________, so ____________________. (name of college) (name of region). (What can you infer?)

If I lived _________________________, I would need ____________________________.
If I lived _________________________, I would want ___________________________.

MAPS *(Your research should help you create a representation of your region/state/community.)
If you have your research, and story complete by tomorrow, you may begin to work on your map representation. If not, then you will have to work on this on your own.
